Would you have taken the job?

I used to work as a cruise ship security officer, and a recruiting agency recently called me, 4 years after I had left the job. They've offered me $2.200 for the job on-board. I've declined it.
Would you have taken the job?
Contract dynamics; 4 months on, 2 months off. Great.
Ship is relatively small, which is also great. Less passengers - less problems.
True. I live in East Europe. But only 2200$? That's just not enough.
For the same job, English or Canadian citizen gets at least 3000$.
And another thing. Safe Cruise agency from Belgrade employs this month (February 2012) deck officers to a job that pays whooping 6300$!
Where's the sense in that?
Don't even get me started on who has more responsibility. Over 5000 people get on and off the ship, almost every single day. If just one of them manage to get on-board without credentials, security officer looses his job.
What if intoxicated passenger wants to fight you? You've got to fight back.
Then you have to deal with drug addicts, rapists, smugglers, thieves, professional complaint makers, missing persons, domestic disputes, accident reports, incident reports ... No thanks.
